RE: Ombudsman

on or around the 31st of March, I received a call from the ombudsman of ontario, responding to my query. On or around the 7th of April, I finally found the time to return that call, and a lengthy conversation ensued.

While I believe that my matter is slightly outside the Ombudsman's jurisdiction, I believe they have some jurisdiction over people that do have jurisdiction over the happenings of my case. Specifically the Ministry of Training.

It is my sincere hope that the Ombudsman's probe will cause the ministry to rethink their position of non-involvement in the matters of the Corporate entities that are the face of learning (eg. Mohawk), and have them take some action to cause Mohawk's highest administration to review the events that caused all of the events, outlined here, to occour.

I remain hopeful that this will happen, but I am holding noone accountable if it does not.

Instead of blindly putting faith in an entity that may have absolutely no sway over what happens to me, I felt it was prudent to instead, take action of my own. I am currently in a pre-production (planning) stages, for the purposes of making a video, which I believe will get more coverage than this blog, to inform the public of this situation.

This decision comes after multiple failed attempts to have the public informed of my struggle via the Press. Due to lack of interest, or whatever may be holding them back, I am moving forward on my own.

My initial intention, as has always been, and will continue to be my intention, was/is to inform people of the potential scrutiny, unfair judgement, and discrimination of students of Mohawk, as to help avoid future instances of situations like mine. Currently, I don't feel that message is reaching the crowd that needs to hear it; therefore, I take the next step.

As I'm an avid "PC" user, I'm currently learning what I can about the editing suites and production elements I will need to utilize in order to publicize this message. I'm also finding myself deliberating on what content to include, what to leave out, and how to post the content.

It is my sincere hope that my story, and my message helps people, as a whole, both in school and not, both prospective students and alumni, to make informed decisions about college, their education, and their money.

I hope you're all doing well.
